Arrive to Liberia
Day 1
Upon arrival at Liberia International Airport, you’ll be met by your expert birding guide and driver. Depart for the wetlands of Caño Negro, a remote wildlife refuge known for its diverse bird species. Settle into your tented camp and enjoy your first dinner surrounded by nature.
Caño Negro
Day 2
Spend a full day exploring Caño Negro by boat and foot. Your expert guide will help you spot a wide variety of tropical and migratory birds as you navigate this biologically rich refuge.
La Fortuna
Day 3
Depart with your guide to the Arenal Volcano area. Check in at a lodge known for its extensive trail system and birdwatching opportunities at the foothills of the iconic volcano.

Day 4 & 5
Enjoy a full day of guided exploration along the private trails of the hotel, considered one of the best birding spots in the region. Today includes a visit to Arenal Volcano National Park and La Fortuna Waterfall for a refreshing dip. Enjoy a delicious farm-to-table lunch at Arenal Vida Campesina. Later, relax in the natural hot springs of Ecotermales, followed by dinner.
Monteverde
Day 6 & 7
Depart for Monteverde’s cloud forest. Upon arrival and check-in, enjoy a night walk tour in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, a chance to see nocturnal birds and forest creatures. In the morning, explore the Curi-Cancha Reserve, a hidden gem for birdwatching. In the afternoon, visit the Hummingbird Gallery to observe various species up close.
Departure from Liberia
Day 8:
After breakfast, your guide will drive you back to Liberia Airport in time for your flight home.
